Former Student Body President Will Bring Elite Program to the Swamp
Jamal Sowell, who currently serves as Special Assistant to UF President Bernie Machen, has partnered with former Florida State University athletes Myron Rolle and Garrett Johnson to create the Emerging Scholars Project.
This free, one day conference is designed to encourage Florida’s underrepresented college students to apply for prestigious programs like the Rhodes, Marshall, and Fulbright scholarships. It will feature past recipients of these elite scholarships and other resources to help students apply for these programs. Sowell is a UF Hall of Fame Student Body President, while Rolle and Johnson are both former Rhodes scholars.
Registration is now open to interested college sophomores, juniors, and seniors who attend an accredited Florida institution. Visit myronrolle.com/emerging-scholars-project or visit the program’s Facebook page to get more info about the application and requirements. All materials must be submitted by June 10. The Emerging Scholar Project will be held at the University of Florida on July 30.
