First Scholarship Gators

Scholarship winners Amanda Norman (left) and Gelyssa Brown (right) were presented with their certificates at the 2011 High School Celebration Picnic on June 18th at CB Smith Park.

The South Florida ABA chapter was proud to present new Gators Amanda Norman and Gelyssa Brown with its first scholarships at the 2011 High School Celebration Picnic on June 18th. Amanda, a graduate of Miami Carol City Senior High who plans to major in finance, was the recipient of the chapter’s $250 Book Scholarship award donated by the UF Bookstore and the Association of Black Alumni. Gelyssa, a graduate of Blanche Ely High who wants to study neonatology, received a $125 scholarship donated from the law offices of Gator alum Jacquelyn Lumpkin Wooden, Esq. Congrats to them and all of our South Florida Gators joining the Gator Nation®!
