UF ABA and VHFCNBA Hosted Lunch Reception Program in Honor of Eugene Pettis June 29, 2013

Eugene Pettis has been an active member of the UF Association of Black Alumni (UF ABA) for many years. He has been a past keynote speaker at our Black Alumni Weekend (BAW) Champagne Brunch program and just last year was inducted into the inaugural class of Gator Pioneers.

Kappa Alpha Psi, Student Government Treasurer, Florida Blue Key, and the Black Law Student Association (BLSA) are among the many organizations he served, not to mention the great success he has enjoyed in the legal profession after graduating from the University of Florida Levin College of Law.

In June 2013, Gene made history when he was sworn in as the first African-American president of the 93,000-member Florida Bar. The Board of Directors of the UF Association of Black Alumni was proud to work with the Virgil Hawkins Florida Chapter National Bar Association (VHFCNBA) to congratulate Gene on this milestone in his career on Saturday, June 29, 2013 in Boca Raton, Florida and to thank him for his support of both organizations.
